Canyon Lake is one of the cleanest, deepest reservoirs in Texas. Green water, limestone shorelines, and the kind of dramatic Hill Country sky that earns the photographs. We've been on it long enough that it stopped being a destination and started being a way of running our weeks.
We surf, we float, and increasingly Rowdy thinks the wheel is for him. That's fine with me. Some of the most important conversations I've had with him have been a few miles out, with the engines off and the world too far away to interrupt.
Canyon Lake is our go-to and our backyard. When we feel like a change of scenery, we make the short drive up to Lake Austin or Lake Travis. Same Hill Country water, different shorelines, different evenings on the boat.
What you see on this page is the small part of the year we actually slow down. It's the fuel. Without it, none of the work matters.
